Cardinal Mercier's Secret to Sanctity and Happiness

This prayer below is part of A Secret of Sanctity by Cardinal Mercier in which he said plainly: "I am going to reveal to you a secret of sanctity and happiness. Five minutes every day keep your imagination quiet. Shut your eyes to all the things of sense and close your ears to all the sounds of earth, so as to be able to withdraw into the sanctuary of your baptized soul, the temple of the Holy Spirit. Speak there to that Holy Spirit, saying:

O, Holy Spirit, soul of my soul, I adore you. Enlighten, guide, strengthen and console me. Tell me what I ought to do and command me to do it.  I promise to be submissive to everything that you permit to happen to me. Show me only what is your will.

" If you do this, your life will pass happily and serenely. Consolation will abound even in the midst of troubles. Grace will be given in proportion to the trial as well as strength to bear it, bringing you to the gates of Paradise full of merit. The submission to the Holy Spirit is the Secret of Sanctity."

Prayers to the Holy Spirit to be said daily

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created; And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray:
O God, Who teaches the hearts of Your faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things and forever to rejoice in His holy comfort. Through Christ, Our Lord, Amen.

Concluding Prayer

Let us pray:
O God grant that our constant prayers may make us deserving of the Holy Spirit. We are grateful for all the graces and lights we have received. With His continued assistance may we attain the perfection in the state of life to which You have called us. This we ask through the merits of Jesus Christ, Your Son , Amen.

Prayer to St Michael

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

(This powerful prayer of exorcism was composed by Pope Leo XIII; in a vision, he had been shown the fearful battle to be waged between Satan and St. Michael over the Church of the future)
